Rule 48. Procedure for issue of licence

Official text

(1) Before a licence is issued, bank guarantee for an amount calculated at the rate as notified by the State Government from time to time for each of the worker to be employed as contract labour, in respect of which the application for licence has been made, shall be deposited by the contractor for performance of the conditions of the licence and compliance with the provisions of the Code or the rules made thereunder.
(2) The fees to be paid for the grant or renewal of a licence shall be as notified by the State Government from time to time.
(3) Every licence granted under this rule shall remain in force for a maximum period of five years from the date of approval, subject to payment of such fee as required.
