The Mizoram Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Rules, 2026

Rule 26. Number of Safety Officers

Chapter IV — Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Board.Made under The Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020No. B-11011/12/2026-LESDE, 12 Aug 2026

Official text

1) In every establishment which is a
(a) factory wherein Five Hundred or more workers, or
(b) factory carrying on hazardous process wherein two hundred fifty workers or more; or
(c) building and other construction work wherein two hundred and fifty workers or more are ordinarily employed, not less than one safety officer shall be appointed by the employer
Provided that:
(a) for a factory specified in clause (a) and (c), one additional safety officer shall be appointed if number of workers employed are more than one thousand but not exceeding to one thousand five hundred. And another safety officer shall be appointed for every additional one thousand workers or part thereof;
(b) for an establishments specified in clause(b), one additional safety officer shall be appointed if number of workers employed are more than five hundred but not exceeding seven hundred fifty. And another safety officer shall be appointed for every additional five hundred workers or part thereof.
