Rule 130. Recreation Facilities

Every employer shall provide and maintain–

(1) A recreation centre or centres for workers with provisions for indoor games suitable for adult and child workers;

(2) Where adequate flat open space is available within a reasonable distance, a playground or playgrounds for adult and child workers with necessary sports equipment for outdoor games shall be provided.

Provided that a group of employers may, with the approval of the Chief Inspector, provide and maintain joint recreation centres and playgrounds and share their expenses.

(3) Every recreation center to be provided and maintained shall be conveniently situated as near as possible to the worker’s quarters.
