Rule 75. Housing Scheme

Within three months from the date of intimation by the Government of their approval of the Technical Committee/Advisory Committee’s recommendations in the matter, every employer shall submit to the Chief Inspector-cum-Facilitator of plantations for approval a scheme in regard to the provision by him of housing accommodation for workers. The Scheme shall provide for the following matters:-

(1) Specification of the period during which housing accommodation is proposed to be provided in respect of all resident workers in a plantation, such period being not later than the period referred to in rule 91.

(2) The type design which is proposed to be adopted for the construction of houses, such design being in conformity with the standards and specifications as may be approved by the State Government under rule 91.

(3) Plans and site plans of the buildings to be constructed in accordance with the provisions of rule 90 or remodelled for use as workers’ houses.
