Equipment for Occupational Health Centre in Factories:
1. A glazed sink with hot and cold water always available.
2. A table with a smooth top of at least 180 cm x 105 cm.
3. Means for sterilizing instruments.
4. A couch.
5. Two buckets or containers with closely fitting lids.
6. A kettle and spirit stove or other suitable means of boiling water.
7. One bottle of spiritus amoniane aromatics (120 ml.)
8. Two medium sizes sponges.Two ‘Kidney’ trays.
9. Four cakes of toilet soap, preferably antiseptic, soap.
10. Two glass tumblers and two wine glasses.
11. Two clinical thermometers.
12. Two tea spoons.
13. Two graduated (120 ml.) measuring glasses.
14. One wash bottle (1000 cc) for washing eyes.
15. One bottle (one litre) carbolic lotion in 20.
16. Three chairs.
17. One screen.
18. One electric hand torch.
19. An adequate supply of tetanus toxoid.
20. Coramine liquid (60 ml.)
21. Tablets –antihistaminic, antispasmodic (25 each).
22. Syringes with needles-2 cc and 10 cc.
23. Two needle holders, big and small.
24. Suturing needles and materials.
25. One pair of dressing forceps.
26. One pair of dressing forceps.
27. One scapel.
28. One stethoscope.
29. Rubber bandage-pressure bandage.
30. Oxygen cylinder with necessary attachments.
31. One blood pressure apparatus.
32. One patellar Hammer.
33. One Peak-flow meter for lung function measurement.
34. One stomach wash set.
35. Any other equipment recommended by the Factory Medical Officer according to specific
relating to manufacturing process.
36. In addition –
(a) for factories employing 51 to 200 employees :
1. Four plain wooden splints of 900 mmx100mmx6mm ;
2. Four plain wooden splints of 350 mmx75mmx6mm ;
3. Two plain wooden splints of 250 mmx50mmx12mm ;
4. One pair of artery forceps ;
5. Injections-morphia, pethidine, atropine, adrenaline, coramine, novacan (2 each):
and
6. One pair of surgical scissors;
(b) For factories employing above 200 worker :
1. Eight plain wooden splints of 900 mmx100mmx6mm ;
2. Eight plain wooden splints of 350 mmx75mmx6mm ;
3. Four plain wooden splints of 250mmx50mmx12mm ;
4. Two pairs of artery forceps ;
5. Injection-morphia, pethidine, atropine, adrenaline, coramine, novocan (2 each) ;
and
6. Two pairs of surgical scissors.
