NOTIFICATION

New Delhi, the 12th May, 2026

S.O. 2418(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (16) of section 2 of the Code on Social Security, 2020 (36 of 2020), the Central Government hereby appoints the officers mentioned in column (2) of the following Table to be the competent authorities for the purposes of Chapter VI of the said Code for the area specified against them in column (3) of the said Table in relation to all establishments for which the Central Government is the appropriate Government under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of the Section 2 of the said Code, namely:-

6. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Odisha. Rourkela and all Assistant Labour Commissioners(Central) in Bhubaneshwar Region

7. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The States of Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana and Jammu and all Assistant Labour Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Commissioners(Central) in Chandigarh Chandigarh. Region

8. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Madurai and all Assistant Labour Puducherry (except Yanam and Mahe districts). Commissioners(Central) in Chennai Region

9. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Kerala and Union Territory of Thiruvananthapuram and all Assistant Lakshadweep and Mahe district in the Union Territory Labour Commissioners(Central) in Cochin of Puducherry. Region

Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Uttarakhand and civil districts of Noida and all Assistant Labour Saharanpur, Bijnor, Meerut, Ghaziabad, Bulandshahar, Commissioners(Central) in Dehradun Bareilly, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Jyotiba Phule Region Nagar (Amroha), Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Rampur, Baghpat, Hapur, Shamli and Gautam Budh Nagar in the State of Uttar Pradesh and any new district formed out of above districts.

11. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The following districts of the State of Jharkhand-Ranchi and all Assistant Labour Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Ranchi, Commissioners(Central) in Dhanbad Region Lohardaga, Gumla, Simdega, Chatra, East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, Giridih, Deogarh, Saraikela (Kharsawan) and Jamtara, Khunti and Ramgarh, and any new district formed out of above districts.

12. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The States of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Tripura, Dibrugarh and all Assistant Labour Manipur, Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh. Commissioners(Central) in Guwahati Region

13. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The States of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and the Visakhapatnam and all Assistant Labour area of Yanam district in the Union Territory of Commissioners(Central) in Hyderabad Puducherry. Region

14. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Madhya Pradesh. Bhopal and all Assistant Labour Commissioners(Central) in Jabalpur Region

15. All Assistant Labour Commissioners The State of West Bengal (except the civil districts of (Central) in Kolkata Region Burdwan, Birbhum, Bankura and Purulia in the State of West Bengal, and any new district formed out of above district), the State of Sikkim and the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

17. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Maharashtra (except the civil districts of Pune and Vasco(Goa) and All Assistant Nagpur, Bhandara, Akola, Beed, Amaravati, Wardha, Labour Commissioners(Central) in Mumbai Buldhana, Jalgaon, Chandrapur, Nanded, Gaddchiroli, Region Parbhani, Latur, Yeotmal, Osmanabad, Hingoli, Gondia and Washim, and any new district formed out of above districts) and the State of Goa.

18. All Assistant Labour Commissioners (Central) in The civil districts of Nagpur, Bhandara, Akola, Nagpur Region Amaravati, Wardha Buldhana, Jalgaon, Chandrapur, Beed, Nanded, Gaddchiroli, Parbhani, Latur, Yeotmal, Osmanabad, Gondia, Washim and Hingoli in the State of Maharashtra, and any new district formed out of above districts.

19. All Assistant Labour Commissioners (Central) in National Capital Territory of Delhi. Delhi Region

20. All Assistant Labour Commissioners (Central) in The State of Bihar and the civil districts of Garhwa, Patna Region Latehar, Sahibganj, Pakur, Dumka, Palamu and Godda in the State of Jharkhand, and any new district formed out of above districts.

21. Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), The State of Chhattisgarh. Bilaspur and all Assistant Labour Commissioners(Central) in Raipur Region
