Rule 18. Manner of amalgamation or change in name under sub-section (2) of section 24

Any two or more registered trade unions may become amalgamated together as one trade union with or without dissolution or division of the funds of such trade unions or any of them, provided that the votes of at least one half of the members of each or every such trade union entitled to vote are recorded and that at least sixty percent of the votes recorded are in favour of the proposal. In the case of change of the name or amalgamation, a notice in writing of every change of name and of every amalgamation signed by secretary and by seven members of the trade union(s) shall be sent to the concerned Registrar electronically or otherwise with relevant documents along with such fees as may be specified by notification in the Official Gazette.
