Order 12. Casual leave

(1) The worker may be granted casual leave of absence with wages not exceeding ten days in the aggregate in a calendar year.

Provided that such leave shall not be for more than three days at a time except in case of sickness and intended to meet special circumstances which cannot be foreseen.

(2) Ordinarily, the previous permission of the office or the controlling authority in the industrial establishment shall be obtained before such leave is taken.

(3) Where prior permission cannot be received, the worker shall, as soon as practicable, inform the authorised officer in writing of his absence and of the probable duration thereof.
