Who and where does the sexual harassment law protect?
- It protects a woman of any age, whether employed or not, at a workplace, and a woman employed in a house s. 2(a).
- Employees include regular, temporary, daily wage and contract workers, probationers, trainees and apprentices, paid or not s. 2(f).
- A workplace includes private organisations, and any place visited because of the job, including transport from the employer s. 2(o).
This comes from the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013, not the Labour Codes. Rules made under it may add detail, and this library does not hold them.
