How do I complain about sexual harassment at work?

  • Make a written complaint to the Internal Committee, or to the Local Committee if there is no Internal Committee, within three months of the incident, or of the last incident in a series s. 9(1).
  • The Committee can extend that by up to three months if circumstances prevented you, and its members must help you put the complaint in writing if you cannot s. 9(1).
  • If you are unable to complain because of physical or mental incapacity or death, your legal heir or another prescribed person may do so s. 9(2).

This comes from the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act, 2013, not the Labour Codes. Rules made under it may add detail, and this library does not hold them.
