What are the penalties under the Labour Codes?
- Under the Code on Wages, paying less than is due can bring a fine of up to ₹50,000, and other contraventions up to ₹20,000 CW s. 54(1).
- Under the OSH Code, a contravention with no other penalty stated carries a penalty of ₹2,00,000 to ₹3,00,000 OSH s. 94.
- Under the OSH Code, the Inspector-cum-Facilitator must first give thirty days to comply, except in the cases that section lists OSH s. 110(1).
