What is the difference between an employee and a worker?
- An employee is anyone employed on wages to do skilled, unskilled, manual, operational, supervisory, managerial, administrative, technical or clerical work, other than an apprentice and the Armed Forces CW s. 2(k).
- A worker is narrower. Under the OSH Code, a person employed mainly as a manager or administrator is not a worker, nor is a supervisor drawing wages above eighteen thousand rupees a month OSH s. 2(1)(zzl).
