Do contract workers get the same pay and conditions as regular workers?
- Your wages must be at least the rates under the Code on Wages, or higher rates under an agreement, settlement or award rule 93(1).
- If you do the same or similar work as the principal employer’s own workers, you get the same holidays, hours of work and other conditions of service rule 93(2).
- You should be enrolled in provident fund and ESI where those apply rule 93(4).
