Must my employer give me a job after apprenticeship, and where do I raise a dispute?
- Every employer makes its own policy on recruiting apprentices who finish training s. 22(1). If your contract requires you to serve after training, the employer must offer suitable employment s. 22(2).
- A dispute arising from the contract goes to the Apprenticeship Adviser, and you can appeal within thirty days s. 20(1)–(2).
This comes from the Apprentices Act, 1961, as amended up to 2014, not the Labour Codes. Its rules, which set the stipend rates, are not in this library.
