Notice of the weekly rest day

What to do
Tell employees which day is fixed as their rest day, and of any change before it takes effect, by a notice displayed at a conspicuous place in the place of employment or electronically rule 6(1), third proviso.
Who it applies to
Employees are allowed rest for one day in every week; in a working week of six days it is ordinarily a Sunday rule 6(1).
When
Before the rest day is fixed or changed rule 6(1), third proviso.
How
The Code gives this power where minimum rates of wages have been fixed under it s. 13(1).
An employee may work on the rest day only with a substituted rest day in the week immediately before or after it, and never so that they work more than ten days consecutively without a rest day rule 6(2).
Work on the rest day is paid at the overtime rate rule 6(4).
