Ventilation, temperature and humidity: belowground mines

What to do
Maintain suitable atmospheric conditions in workplaces, with adequate ventilation in all workplaces of the belowground mine to clear away smoke, fumes, steam and dust and to dilute inflammable or noxious gases rule 27.

When

How
Protect employees from extreme weather by changing working hours, or by giving protective clothes or other provisions rule 27(iii).
Provide mechanical ventilation where natural ventilation cannot give enough fresh air without uncomfortable draughts rule 27(iv).
At workplaces at the surface, keep a temperature suited to the work, and vary humidity with the kind of work and the outside conditions rule 27(v).
Take measurements of air quantity, temperature and humidity regularly, and keep the entries at each air measurement station up to date rule 27(vi).
