What to do
When you receive a nomination in Form III, verify the employee’s service particulars against your records, return the duplicate to the employee, attested by you or an authorised officer, against a receipt, and keep the other copy rule 32(2) s. 55(7).
Who it applies to
Employers covered by the gratuity Chapter: every factory, mine, oilfield, plantation, port and railway company, and every shop or establishment in which ten or more employees are employed, or were employed on any day of the preceding twelve months First Schedule.

When
Within thirty days of receiving the nomination rule 32(2).
How
Each employee who has completed one year of service makes a nomination s. 55(1), ordinarily within ninety days of completing a year of service rule 32(1).
Accept a nomination filed after that period; it is not invalid merely because it was late rule 32(1), proviso.
Keep nominations in safe custody s. 55(7).
Fresh nominations and modifications follow the same procedure rule 32(3)–(4).
