What to do
Provide an adequate supply of clean, wholesome and safe drinking water, readily accessible to all employees in all workplaces; mark any non-piped supply as safe in Hindi or English and the local language and replenish it daily; and do not allow common drinking cups except where water comes from a rising jet rule 44.
Who it applies to
The employer of every factory, mine, building or other construction work, industrial premise for manufacture of beedi and cigar, motor transport undertaking, dock work and plantation rule 44.
When

How
Mark water that is unsafe for drinking, in Hindi or English and the local language rule 44.
At building sites, store drinking water in closed containers with taps, clean and disinfect transport and storage tanks, and never connect it to unfit water rule 44, proviso.
