Maternity benefit
Maternity benefit is the average daily wage for the period of absence, up to 26 weeks (12 weeks in some cases), plus a medical bonus where the employer provides no free pre- and post-natal care.

The medical bonus is ₹3,500 or such amount as the Central Government notifies (SS Code s.64). Not more than eight weeks of the 26 may come before the expected delivery date.
